The Culmination of SPIE Optics Outreach Education Programme at Acharya Narendra Dev College featured distinguished physicist and educator Professor H.C. Verma as the Chief Guest. Organized by the SPIE Student Chapter with Faculty Advisor Prof. Amit Garg, the event was graced by College Principal Prof. Ravi Toteja and IAPT RC-1 Officials Prof. Seema Wats and Dr. Yogesh Kumar.

The SPIE Student Chapter at Acharya Narendra Dev College, University of Delhi, celebrated its Runner-Up achievement for the "SPIE Presidential Award 2023" with an event named "Onward & Beyond" on August 25, 2023. Highlights included an inspiring address by Faculty Advisor Prof. Amit Garg, alumni meet, engaging activities, and a mesmerizing performance by Dhun's Magic.

We received a $3000 grant to enhance optics education for school students through hands-on workshops in 22 Delhi schools. Emphasizing practical learning, we distributed Ray Optics Kits, conducted pre- & post-tests & gathered feedback to assess knowledge transfer, significantly enriching educational experience. This initiative highlights SPIE's support in promoting optics & practical education.

The Modern Optics & Photonics Experiments Workshop, hosted by the SPIE Student Chapter, offered hands-on learning and theoretical insights into photonics, equipping students with foundational knowledge and practical skills. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) collaborated with our chapter on an awareness program highlighting the importance of standards in technology. The event featured presentations, competitions (poster making, essay writing, slogan writing, and a quiz), and a networking lunch. This engaging program promoted awareness of standards, product safety, and innovation among students.

The chapter hosted a seminar with Mr. Divyansh Rajput on November 4th, 2023, attended by 35 students. Mr. Rajput, former SPIE ANDC Editorial Officer, discussed modern spaceflight, rocket propulsion, and orbital maneuvers, providing an illuminating exploration of space exploration. The seminar enriched attendees with comprehensive insights into rockets, satellites, and space navigation.

We and Brain Mentors Pvt Ltd hosted a 5-day workshop led by Mr. Kumar Kaushik, covering AI, Python basics, NumPy, Pandas, and creating a recommendation program, attended by over 40 participants. The workshop provided in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience, emphasizing real-world applications and future prospects in machine learning and AI.

Organized a one-day 3D printing workshop led by Mr. Shivansh Bhatnagr, featuring both theoretical & practical sessions. Participants learned about 3D printing history, types, & applications, engaged with Blender software, & received hands-on training with Flash Forge 3D printer. The workshop successfully provided comprehensive knowledge & practical experience in 3D printing technology.

Our SPIE chapter organized an educational excursion to Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, joined by approximately 50 students. The tour included Amrit Udyan gardens, exhibits on India's heritage, a virtual reality walk with Mahatma Gandhi, and a moon rock display, enriching our cultural appreciation and aligning with our chapter's values.

The Interstellar IQ Battle on September 20, 2023, celebrated Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya L-1 with 40 students, testing their space mission knowledge through three challenging levels. Winners received prizes enhancing their passion for space, while refreshments fostered camaraderie among participants, uniting them in the joy of exploration and learning.

We hosted a vibrant orientation introducing new students to optics and photonics. The event highlighted chapter activities, showcased projects & included a science quiz with prizes, fostering enthusiasm & networking among over 60 attendees. It successfully integrated new members into the SPIE community, promoting a shared passion for optics & photonics in alignment with SPIE's global mission.

Participants underwent hands-on training starting with Raspberry Pi setup. Subsequent days focused on advanced tasks like traffic light control, sensor integration (PIR, ultrasonic, temperature/humidity), Bluetooth interfacing & cloud platform usage. The workshop culminated in projects demonstrating real-time IoT applications, emphasizing practical skills & real-world implementation.
